About Hypnotherapy

To understand the relationship of the conscious mind as it relates to the subconscious mind I will use this analogy.

Imagine the captain of a submarine as the conscious mind. The captain is the one who makes all of the decisions in regard to destination and manoeuvring. He is the only one who sees where he is going through the periscope. On the other hand, the large crew that are actually navigating the submarine would be similar to the subconscious mind. The crew reacts to all of the orders given by the Captain. Since they cannot see where they are going, they must rely completely on the decision-making capabilities of the Captain. They are unable to make proper decisions on their own, independently and their function is to simply react to the commands of the captain and follow his instructions.

This is how the mind works. The conscious mind is completely in charge and makes all the decisions. The purpose of the subconscious mind is to react immediately to the commands that are given to it from the conscious mind and rely on its decision-making capabilities completely.

The subconscious mind is where the power comes from and without it, the submarine will not function. The subconscious mind is subject to the conscious mind.

All hypnosis is self-hypnosis, in other words, a therapist is like a GPS. We will give you instructions and you as the driver follow these instructions, but remain in control at all times, meaning that you can bypass my instructions if you wish.

What people don’t realise is that every one of us experiences a hypnotic state on a daily basis. From the moment you wake up in the morning until you go to sleep, you would have passed through numerous hypnotic phases where your mind is so focused on one thing that you are unaware of your surroundings. Like being engrossed in a book and not hearing someone calling your name. Or perhaps waking up in the middle of the night, thirsty, but not getting up to drink water. Your mind is awake and telling you to drink water, but your body is asleep. It is at this point that you are in a natural hypnotic state.

At this point, your subconscious is highly receptive to suggestions, but only those that are acceptable to you.

About Mind MeDiation

Some people misread it as Meditation, but it is MeDiation.
Mind Mediation is basically where I am the Mediator between your conscious and unconscious mind.

These 2 minds don't speak the same language hence why certain things happen in our lives and bodies and we simply don't understand it. It is a protective programme that the unconscious mind is running to protect us from something. But we consciously don't always know why or when it started and thus can't change it.

A very simple example would be having migraines on a regular basis (not all migraines or other symptoms in our bodies are due to a medical reason).
So the unconscious started running a new programme, for example:
Every time you need to do something that you don't enjoy doing... Guess what... You get a migraine! The unconscious is protecting you from doing what you don't want to do.

Consciously we don't see or understand that. All we know is we suffer from severe migraines and no medication really works and doctors can't help us either. We are stuck with it for life!

That's where I come in. I get the conscious mind to understand why you got it in the first place and the unconscious to understand why you don't need that programme any longer and that it is not beneficial to you.

And guess what... The migraines stop!

This is a very simplified explanation, but the therapy just works!

It's the same for so many other issues and symptoms and programmes in our lives!

Hormones, habits, anxiety, chronic pain and chronic illnesses, insomnia, unexplained symptoms and aches and pains and so much more!
